The Reserves Line Up In Front Of The Main Stand
The clubs reserve side was reformed for the start of the 2007/2008 season. The manager of the previous seasons youth side Tony Taylor wanted to keep his now overage squad together and approached the clubs directors with a request for them to form a reserve side. The board agreed that with the formation of the separate youth section at the club which now covered the under 18 age group it was necessary to provide the stepping stone of a reserve side to enable young players to make the step from youth to first team football. Application was made to join the Lincolnshire league and this was accepted. The club had previously run a reserve side in this league and indeed won the leage title in 2000/2001 but unfortunately the side was later disbanded for financial reasons.
Tony Taylor once again ran the side in the Lincolnshire league during this season until January 2009. After his resignation as Reserve team manager, Grantham Town were unable to field a side in the Lincolnshire League and subsequently tendered their resignation from the League.
It is intended to re-start a reserve side next season with Scott Huckerby as manager.
