About the youth section
The clubs Youth set up was originally formed in 2002 but in 2006 the clubs Directors decided that the set up required re vamping and decided to re allocate the franchise for running the Youth organisation at the club. A separate Charitable Company was formed Limited by Guarantee and that company now manages all aspects of the Youth organisation at the club. Operating autonomously but very much under the parent clubs umbrella the Youth company started with just two sides but is expanding all the time.
The aims of the youth set up are to train quality players from under 7 and take them right through the age grades playing at the highest level possible to under 18 when hopefully they will progress to the senior clubs reserve and first teams. Already several members of the successful under 16 and under 18 sides have joined in training sessions with the first team.
Grantham Youth Football are also committed to promoting girls and ladies football and have formed their first team. The intention is to expand the number of teams to meet the ever increasing demand for a quality provision in the Grantham area.
